Landscapes

I’ve done a lot of traveling out west with my son over the years, mainly to Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. I’m drawn to those places in large part because of the vastness of the spaces and monumental sizes of the formations. I’ve found that making drawings, watercolors and paintings helps give me a better sense of place. Looking at these pieces again brings me right back to the place. Monument Valley and The Rooster formation (or Rooster Rock) in particular, draws me back, over and over. There’s something magical about that place and space. There are also some drawings and paintings from a 1991 trip to Japan. Some of those scans are old and need to be redone eventually.

These images are presented in chronological order, starting with the most recent ones.
